FIRST AID

What to Know

Call Time

Report to the green room (Morning View Word Church) and get your badges at 12:00pm, then report to the main stage no later than 12:15pm.

General Guidelines

As a first aid team, our focus is to provide first aid supplies, coordinate emergency services as needed, and connect people to lost persons or items. We are not administering medication or operating on people in any fashion to avoid legal liability.

That said, zone leaders are encouraged to page via walkie talkie the first aid tent for incoming patients. When patients arrive, your focus should be on identifying what the issue is and what form of first aid supplies is relevant to use if any AND whether professional level medical support (911) needs to be requested. If someone is dealing with heat exhaustion, feel free to provide them with water and the opportunity to rest in the shade for a while, periodically checking in. If someone cuts themselves, you can hand them the bandaid. But allow them to administer it themselves. Unless they are unable to administer their own supplies due to injury or capacity then refrain from administering aid directly. Focus on giving them the items to apply themselves when and where you can.

We will have a sign present that will let festival attendees know the extent of the first aid support you are able to provide. That language can be found here.

Lost & Found

Lost & Found is also operating out of the First Aid Tent. We will set up a crafty cart in the tent to store any items that are declared lost. If someone approaches the tent claiming to have lost items, please have them describe the item before surrendering that item to them. Please also document their name, phone number, and email address before letting them leave.

First aid should cue the stage manager via walkie talkie when people are separated and looking for their loved ones from the tent to then have it announced by emcees at the earliest possible moment.
